The chestnut horse darted left and right, confused on why he was here. It was so strange. Where was the grass? Where were the snowy mountains? What was this place? Arrow panted heavily, the usually steady rise and fall of his chest was now heavy, a sign that rang out he was panicking.
Arrow tried to remember anything that could help him escape. He raked through his memories. Nothing. He sighed deeply. Stress showed in every line of his handsome face. He scurried around, head to the dusty floor, occasionally crashing into tall thin objects that stood out of the ground.
A familiar sound rang in his ears. The sound of running water! Arrow rushed over to the source of the noise but suddenly stopped dead in his tracks. He could see the water alright but what was that stone thing? He stared at it for a while, his panic was now worry.
After a while of staring, Arrow saw that it was no harm. He dropped his head to the floor again to find any sign of why he was here.

Shak walked next to her brother, Yaksha. They were more intrigued by the abandoned city than fearful of it. They had spent time fighting about where to go to look around first. Eventually, they settled on the path they now took. Their strides were perfect matches. They moved fluidly down what used to be a busy street.
After a while of walking, they came to a small opening in the city. It was a round area. In the center was a round rock formation. Liquid noises came from the strange object. Behind the stone water was a chestnut horse. The twins looked at each other.
"Hello," they said in unity. A soft breeze ruffled their manes.

The chestnut stallion whipped around quickly to find the voice that had startled him. His breathing became more heavy as he began to stress more - why were these two horses here? For a few seconds, Arrow watched the horses who looked almost identicle. One of them - the filly - was a pretty appaloosa mare with many speckles dotted around her fine frame. The other - what Arrow assumed was a young colt - was darker in colour than his... friend? Arrow couldn't make it out.
"What do you want?" he managed to say through his panting breath. He didn't mean to be rude but Arrow really didn't know whether they were here to harm him or not. He scattered backwards a few steps, the whites of his eyes showing clearly.

Yaksha tilted his head to the side. He was curious of the horse in front of him. He was maybe a few years, if at all, older than he was. He took in the fear that eminated from the chestnut. He chuckled under his breath. The sight of a horse, who was obviously larger than him, being the fearful one. He redirected his attention to his sister who had taken a step forward.
Shaka smiled sweetly. "We don't particularily want anything at the moment," her voice was cool and relaxed, "We have just happened upon you and thought it courtious to say hello." He eyes sweeped over the chestnut. She thought he was a handsome horse and wondered what he was doing in the abandoned city. "What are you doing here," she asked.

"Oh," Arrow said, realising that the two horses were not here to harm him. By the way they acted, this place wasn't at all strange to them. They treated it like it was normal. Most of the tension that had stiffened his body relaxed. "I'm so sorry," he appologised. "I thought you were here to harm me. I have no idea why I am here and I am just investigating for any signs that will help me remember."
The chestnut horse dropped his nose and began to scurry around the fountain again before finding a set of hoofprints he did not recognise, although the scent that went with them rang a bell. "You haven't seen any other horses around here, have you?" he asked, eager to know the answer. Suddenly, Arrow realsied he had no introduced himself. "I must have forgotton my manners. My name is Arrow. Who might you two be?"

Yaksha had set his mind to be rude. It was his nature after all. The way that the chestnut talked he was a loco creature. Yaksha laughed abruptly at the red horse when he siad he had no idea why he was in the city.
Shaka gave her brother a sharp look to hush him. She smiled apologetically at the chestnut. She listened calmly as he spoke. His voice was like a warm breeze to her ears. He asked if they had seen any other horses around. Before she could answer, the stallion was introducing himself. Shaka let his name be imprinted in her brain. She smiled softly when he asked her and her brother's name. "My name is Shaka."
Yaksha felt like not complying to Arrow's simple request. He snorted indignant. He was about to turn away when Shaka gave him the look that he knew meant she wasn't planning on letting him get away with the rudeness. He sighed. "My name is Yaksha. And no, we have not seen any other horses." He looked as though he had lost a piece of his ego.

Arrow relaxed. At least there was nobody else around - the other set of fresh hoofprints he had just found went to the back of his mind where he would worry about it later. The chestnut stallion smiled emotionlessly at the rude colt who looked as though he would rather be anywhere else but here. There was no doubt that this horse must belong to that of dark origin but what about his friend? Shaka was a horse who he found very charming and kind. It was very unlikely two horses of different origin would roam these lands together. Maybe she was also dark and was here to trick him? He wasn't sure why but the thought nagged him.
"We don't particularily want anything at the moment." The words that Shaka had spoken earlier echoed in his brain. Did this mean that they were here for something? She said she didn't want anything at the moment. Was there something he didn't know? Arrow's ears flickered back and forth nervously. He was usually a confident and playful horse but the recent events had started to make him nervous - he still didn't know why he was here. He hadn't just wondered into this village - he had woken up here. Strange.
Arrow decided to get more information from the two horses. "So what is the place anyways? And why have you come here?" he asked, trying to hide the suspision in his calm voice.

Yaksha gave the chestnut a rueful smile. How stpind is this horse, he wondered. "This is ruins from long ago," he laughed as he explained the foreign terrian to Arrow. His eyes, that were nearly black, sparkled with joy. He was finding it exciting to start into his ruder mood.
Shaka shook her head at her Yaksha. "Please excuse my brother," she said, "We came here a few months back. We haven't really needed to leave." She smiled softly to Arrow. Her smile faded, however, when she noticed the worried actions of Arrow. "Is something wrong," she asked, concern touched her voice.

Arow frowned at Yaksha. The rudeness in his voice was starting to get a little anooying but he didn't let it get to him. The chestnut simply shook his head and turned to Shaka. "No, I'm fine," he lied, not wanting to worry her or anything. So, he was in the ruins of a... what did the humans use to call it? Village? Arrow had heard of such places before but never imagained he would ever end up in one. The steady flow of the water behind him splashed delicatley against the surface - it was the only sound that was familiar to him in this strange and gloomy place. "Do you know the way out?" he asked politely, hoping the two horses could lead him to freedom before something bad happened. The feeling of fear prickled his hide.

Shaka frowned at Arrow's reply. She didn't buy that he was "fine". She sighed when he asked for a way to leave. Why did he want to leave. "Before I answer," she said calmly, "How long have you been here?" She wanted him to get a feel for the place if he was new. How unfair to the strange land that he leave without knowing it.
Yaksha felt pleased that Arrow wished to leave. He wanted the least to do with him, unless of coarse he could pick fights with Arrow. He would have given the directions to Arrow had Shaka not bared her pale teeth at him the moment he opened his mouth.

Arrow returned to his thoughts at Shaka's question. "I have no idea," he replied, shaking his golden head. "I just woke up here. I don't remember wondering into this village before I fell unconcious." Everything was so confusing to him now. This place just freaked him out - it was so alien to him. He had heard bad things about the people that used to dwell in these enclosed areas. Many tame horses were ridden by men by using something called a saddle and bridle - his father told him all about it when he was young.
"Why do you ask?" he asked Shaka, paying no attention to the other horse who seemed to be getting more irritated by the minute by the chestnut horse who spoke to his friend. Surely if they were friends he would have fought Arrow off? This colt did not seem like one to mess with and would have chased the stranger away by now. It confused the older stallion a little. Maybe that was why the other showed no sign of battle - because the other horse was older? Arrow did not want anything to do with violence and would rather avoid it when he could. Maybe he should leave now before anything happened. Would the filly let him leave so soon when they had only just met? Arrow had been so freaked out by what had happened just before he saw them that he didn't have chance to show his true personality.

Shaka was confused and intrigued by the story Arrow told her about his coming to the abandoned land. She thought it over for a second then answered Arrow. "I ask becuase I am simply curious," she said, "But if you really want to leave now..." She added the last part because she could sense how worried Arrow was, but she let her voice trail off so as to not completely encourage him to leave. She shifted her feet slightly from side to side.
Yaksha stayed silent behind his sister. He did not want to anger her. She could tend to get mean if he bothered her too much. He hated that she had a heart for strangers. His face was like that of one of the statues that still held form in the ruins, expressionless. His ears were slightly back, though.

"No... I mean, I suppose you could show me around? That is... if you want to..." Arrow quickly put in. Shaka had convinced him that all he really wanted was some company. He looked at Yaksa who seemed to be getting more annoyed by the minute. He had slightly forgotton about how frightening this new place was and realised that he was actually feeling quite relaxed now. Maybe this place wasn't so bad anyway. The two horses didn't seemed that bothered about it. Maybe the colt was starting to get a little on his nerves but he actually quite liked the filly.

Shaka nearly exploded with happiness. She quickly tried to compose herself. "I, I mean, we would be more that happy to show you around," she said. She was acting like a young foal but she didn't care. She was happy that she had convinced Arrow to stay.
Yaksha let out a loud, and very unhappy sigh. This was not what he was looking for in the day. His head dropped down. He was getting tired of his sister's antics. Why must she always get involved with strangers? Why couldn't she just leave them alone like any normal horse would?
Shaka turned towards an abandoned roadway. "Shall we start then," she asked pleasantly.

Arrow also turned his head to the abandoned roadway but a little nervously. He took a depp breath and nodded his strong head. "Yeah, ok," he agreed, stepping just behind Shaka so she could lead. The stallion also noticed he was happening to be standing to the bad-tempered colt but took no notice. Yaksha seemed more than annoyed about this tour. To Arrow, it was obvious he was unwelcomed by the colt but the filly seemed to be excited to have made a new friend. Arrow was also feeling quite joyful.

Yaksha started out the trek. She walked in a flashy way, she only did this when she was very happy. She pulled her front feet to her chin and her hind feet to her belly. Her eyes glittered in the sun. For the moment, the path they were on was between to stone walls that offered not much view. She didn't care that the path made no escape if attacked from behind and in front of the trio.
Yaksha dragged his feet as he followed the red tail. He only moved in the tired way until he was in the alley. Then he brought his head up and walked a little faster. His ears were back listening to the space behind them. He was not to fond of the narrow pathage and would rather be out in the open where a fight would be fair.

Arrow followed the filly happily, a skip in his quick stride. The path was narrow and the chestnut stallion - who often felt a little clostraphobic at times - stay as close to Shaka as possible. His worries from a few minutes ago seemed distant and were at the back of his mind. A small bird flew over them, skimming close to their heads as he went by.

(ooc: its okay)
Shaka hummed lightly as she emerged into the street that was at the other side of the alley. She turned to wait for the other two to make it out of the alley.
She stood on the remains of a cobblestone street. The street was perhaps the widest in the ruined city, or at least the widest that Shaka had seen. Nearly completely still whole buildings framed the street. The street went for a long ways in both directions. Trees and plants had started to break through the buildings and the street.
Shaka smiled at her companions. "Welcome to the main path," she said in a light voice. Her brown eyes gleaming in excitement.
Yaksha moved onto the path that his sister stood on. He knew it well. He and his sister had spent most of their few months along this street. They had actually used an old building as shelter during the rain.

OOC: a better post for you lol...
Arrow glared in amazement at the open space of the delapidated city. Many trees gripped onto the sides of many windows and doorframes, giving the street that ruin type of look that you imagine when you think of a collapsed building that had been deserted of hundreds of years. The abandoned cobbelstones under the chestnut's hard hooves chipped slightly under his weight. Feral weeds twisted in his golden coat as he followed Shaka.
"Wow," he breathed with a shocked sigh. Never in a million years did he think something as strange and as alien as this could have existed. "So humans used to live in these... er..." he asked Shaka, unsure on what the large bricked objects were. He glanced around and took a step forward towards one of the brick objects, stretching out his nose to the crumbling frame of what used to be a door. A few stones fell loose as he stepped closer.

Watching Arrow take in the new sights of the abandoned place was the most delightful thing to see for Shaka. She smiled at the falter in his question. She wasn't sure what the large stone things were either. She thought that they were maybe artificial caves. "Yeah," she said, "The humans lived in these." She started to amble down the street a little ways.
Yaksha was bored by the tour. He had seen it all already and could walk the trail blindfolded. He blew out a long breath. He walked toward his sister, carrying his head low to the ground. His nostrils were so close to the broken cobble stone that with every exhale Yaksha made, dust floated up at him. He twitched his tail.
