remember those walls I built well baby, they're tumbling down
The black and white multicolored mare stepped absently through the trees. The sight before her was rather dazzling but the mare was a little to distracted for sights and sounds to catch her attention. Halo shook out her long mane which tumbled past her shoulder. Her coat was a bit dusty, a little longer from the newly passed winter, giving her a slightly fuzzier appearance. When she snapped out of her daydreaming, she noticed the cystaline pools.
A feeling of longing echoed through the chasams of her body. It was still cold outside, but she ignored the feeling. She was tough. She could take care of herself. Slowly the six year old strode over to a shallow pool, stepping in slowly. At first the feeling was refreshing, but once it hit her shoulder, a shiver sailed down her spine. The mare sank to her knees, collapsing in the water. She slid over onto her back, then to her opposite side. In a flash she was on her hooves and leaping clear of the water. She gave a rough shake. Water sprayed off her body. She was a beauty. It was obvious now that the water had slicked down her fur. Droplets dripped down her long mane and tail, glittering like liquid diamonds in the setting sunlight.
Halo gave a short snort. Despite her independent personality, even Halo got lonely some times. The mare shook her neck again, diamonds flying into the air. She was a regular angel if you asked any passer by. The mare stepped away from the water, giving a soft shiver. It was colder than she'd thought. Halo lifted her muzzle to the air for a moment, then began the study her surroundings. Then there was a crack. A stick. Her senses stood on end. Someone was there.
and they didn't even put up a fight they didn't even make a sound.
